Morning: Errachidia → Erfoud
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive through the lush palm groves of the Ziz Valley. Arriving in Erfoud, known as the “fossil capital of Morocco,” you’ll explore workshops where ancient marine fossils are transformed into beautiful crafts. You’ll also have time to stroll the town, visit local markets, and learn about its role as the gateway to the Sahara.
Midday: Erfoud → Rissani
Continue to Rissani, a historic trading town that was once the starting point of ancient caravan routes. You’ll explore the bustling souk, famous for its spices, handicrafts, and desert goods. Stroll through traditional alleys, discover old ksars (fortified villages), and stop for a delicious local lunch featuring madfouna (Berber pizza), a specialty of the region.
Afternoon: Return via Desert Landscapes
After lunch, enjoy a relaxed walk around Rissani’s palm groves and admire its quiet atmosphere. On the way back toward Errachidia, take in the shifting desert landscapes — from rocky plateaus to soft dunes glowing in the afternoon sun. The journey ends with drop-off in Errachidia by evening.
